W series water-borne bentonite thickening rheological agent is a kind of flaky silicate mineral with unique properties, which is mainly montmorillonite. It is introduced into the layered structure of natural silicate inorganic high molecular through the hydration method of polyhydroxy organic polymer structure. It is the most promising organic/inorganic composite polymer thickener at present, and can be used in water to provides good rheological and thickening effects, and has the high efficiency and fluidity of organic thickener and the stability and suspension of inorganic thickener. The unique sheet structure can provide a stable rheological curve, and it can provide excellent storage stability and can-opening effect when applied to water-based coating formulations.
Application:Waterborne multicolor paint, waterborne industrial paint, latex paint, adhesive, sealant, waterborne color paste, ceramics and so on.
Easy to disperse, suitable for high-gloss and water-based transparent products.
Pre-gel with concentration as high as 20-25% can be prepared.
Prevent pigment from settling and keep the system stable.
Good sag resistance, suitable for thick coating.
Thickening the emulsion to keep the emulsion coating stable.
1.When preparing 20% pregel, the initial viscosity is high, so it is necessary to slowly add W801 into water, which will show good fluidity after one hour. (Try to use soft water or deionized water. If there is only hard water, it needs to be treated: ion exchange, polyphosphate, etc.)
2.Increasing the temperature (35-60ºC), adding electrolyte and high-speed shearing can accelerate the formation of pregel.
3.Can be added in the form of mother liquor at any stage of the production process.
4.There is no need to adjust the PH value, but in the acidic region, the stability of W801 will be slightly weak.
5.If W801 is used in organic solvent, the amount of solvent should be controlled. Generally, it shall not exceed 50% methanol, 30% ethanol, 30% isopropanol and 50% ethylene glycol.
6.Addition amount: generally 0.5-4% of the total weight of the system, and the actual dosage depends on the system requirements.
